• Every individual grieves the loss of a loved one in his or her own unique way.

• During grief counselling I assist people in going through the grieving process in their own way.

• The length of the grieving process is different for each person and specific to the loss they have experienced. Although friends and family may want a grieving person to recover from the loss as quickly as possible, grieving cannot be rushed.

• The intensity with which people experience grief often leaves them bewildered and wondering whether they are still of right mind. Grief can manifest in ways that seem very unusual or disturbing, yet given the enormity of the situation, such responses are normal and to be expected.

• Some common response to grief include:

  • Sadness
  • Anger
  • Guilt
  • Anxiety
  • Loneliness
  • Physical symptoms

I will explore with you ways to grieve that feel right for you, which address your personal needs. You will not be rushed through the grieving process, but encouraged to move through it at your own pace. You can be assured that I will be accepting and nonjudgemental no matter how you may be experiencing the loss of your loved one.
